Camp - Last Reminder

Dear Scouts,

Camp is next weekend, the campsite is booked, the activities are planned, I have booked the day off work but so far only one Scout has committed to it.

Unless I hear from more of you by the end of this weekend we will have no choice but to cancel the event.

Please also let me know if you are going on the Service Crew Challenge the following weekend, again I have booked two teams but only have two Scouts that have agreed to go.

Apologies to those who have been in touch, but if you would rather not go on this type of activity I would prefer that you let me know so that I am not wasting my time.

Winter Camp

Crew Challenge -12th November

As I mentioned last week, I have booked two teams for the Service Crew Challenge next month.

For those who don't know about it, the Crew Challenge is a Scout competition held every year on Beacon Fell. Teams of three move around the fell and take part in activity bases where they earn points. Many of the bases are traditional Scouting skills but there are always some surprises! If you are new to the troop don't be put off - you might not know everything but you'll definitely have a good time!

There are only 100 teams allowed and entries will close soon, if we get more than six Scouts to put their names forward, we can try to book another team, otherwise we will have to try and join with another troop to make up the third team.

The Challenge is held on the morning of 12th November at Beacon Fell. You will need to sort out transport yourselves and there is some basic kit required - click here. If you don't have some of this don't worry just let us know.

I'm not at Scouts tomorrow but please let me know as soon as possibleif you are interested so that I can sort out the teams.

We managed to cook the duck but unfortunately we ran out of time for the rabbit. I will cook it at home though and bring it next week for you to taste. Many thanks yet again to those who provide the "road kill" each year for this popular night.

Please note - we're postponing next week's "Bring a Friend Night" due to other commitments also coming soon we have a camp in November followed by Crew Challenge and Remembrance Sunday.
