Bag Packing

Dear all,

Don't forget this Thursday we will be bag packing at Sainsburys. We need Scouts to be there from 6pm to 9pm in full uniform. You all managed to look your best for Remembrance Sunday so let's do it again.

Please support Pam with this - it is our most important fund raising of the year and lets face it, it has to be better than organising a dozen jumble sales!

Thanks,

Mark

Details for Ice Skating

This week we will be ice skating at Blackburn. Entry and skate hire costs around £7.50.
We will be meeting as usual at 7 and travelling to Blackburn by car. The leaders will provide transport but we might need an extra car if all the Scouts turn up. The rink closes at 10 so we should be back at around 10.30.

Could a parent please volunteer to provide transport to this event. You might well not be needed but if we can't fit everybody in we can't go. Would volunteers please let me know either by email mark@mwjoyce.co.uk or phone 01772 861319

Thanks,

Mark

Crew Challenge and Remembrance Sunday

Congratulations to the five Scouts that took part in the Crew Challenge, they all did really well with one team getting to 8th out of 87 teams in their age group. Sorry to James and Joe but I didn't get a photo of you.

Thank-you also to all the Scouts that were on parade on Sunday. Everybody was well turned out - even those that had "lost" their uniforms only a few days ago! Thank-you especially to Matthew for carrying the flag and James for laying the wreath.
Perhaps we can continue the good form and have a full turn-out of uniform every Thursday?

Don't forget though that this week we are meeting at Beacon Fell for an night of orienteering.

Beacon Fell

Don't forget that we are meeting at 7pm on Beacon Fell next week. It will be dark so bring a torch and suitable clothing.
We will finish at 9 o'clock.

Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday this year is 14th November 2010, the parade leaves the British Legion at 10am and usually finishes at noon. We will walk in full uniform those Scouts who do not yet have a uniform can walk in their school uniforms. We only have two parades a year so it is important that we support this and look our best.

Crew Challenge

For those Scouts who are in teams, here is a copy of the team information sheet.

Information Sheet

Please read through and if you need anything then get in touch, we should be able to help.

Welcome back to Scouts

Welcome back everybody!

The programme for the next few months is now available, hopefully by Christmas we should have a few more badges.
Welcome also to our new leader, Graham, he has come to help us and has a background in most kinds of outdoor activities so should be a real help.
This term most of our programme is based at Longridge, there is one night at Beacon Fell and Ice Skating later on, but please bring coats even if you don't expect to need them - we may still need to go outside for some activities.

Thanks,

Mark
